Week Totals

Running: 86.49 Mi
Mtn Biking: 10.87 Mi
Ski Conditioning Class: 3 x 90 Min
Summary:

Although I did not have any specific goals for this week, I am satisfied with the consistency of early morning runs. Since I have started roofing again, my training has taken a huge hit. In order to negate that, I have been running at 6:00 AM nearly every day. It seems to be working, and I am slowly adjusting to the early mornings and running in the dark. It will be nice once the time changes though.

I have also been going to the ski conditioning classes 3 days per week, and my body is finally adjusting to those as well. Initially the lunges, squats, etc would make my legs heavy and sore for my runs. This week I did not notice it at all, and actually felt pretty good some mornings.

Finally, this was the first time doing a 20+ mile long run since Cascade Crest 100 over 2 months ago. It felt great to get after it, and the run was spectacular. Knee deep POW!!! on the north side of Daisy Pass (see photo above).

Goals:

Without any specific racing goals on the calendar, I am just trying to maintain fitness and build strength for the winter season.
  • Running Mileage: 90 (give or take) with a couple doubles.
  • Cycling: It would be nice to get out on my bike(s) a few more times before the weather truly turns.
  • Strength: Continue going to Ski Conditioning classes, do more upper body workouts to prepare for skate skiing.
