Training Week: August 10 - 16

Just kickin' it on top of Mt Sharman (14,036') trying to get some new RBCs.
Sunday: .
  • PM Run: 11.24 Mi - 600' - 1:15 - Moderate: Got the legs moving a little faster for the first time in quite a while. Hit the bike path and Bobolink trail for a flatter out n back. I could feel my groin the first couple miles then it was fine after that.
Monday: 
  • AM Run: 3.47 Mi - 1,300' - 0:45 - Easy: Dakota Ridge & Mt Sanitas. Groin felt a little achy at the start from yesterday, but overall not too bad.
Tuesday: 
  • AM Run: 9.01 Mi - 1,500' - 1:15 - MP Effort: Out to Bluestem then Mesa to Shannahan. Did a 20 minute MP effort on some technical trails in the middle, had planned on 25 min but cut it short since I could feel the terrain starting to aggravate my groin.
  • PM Core/Strength: Core & hip stability workout.
Wednesday: 
  • AM Run: 11.14 Mi - 2,500' - 1:54 - Easy: Casual lap up Green with Niko since he just moved to town (well, Estes) from back easy. Going to have to get up his way now for some runs in RMNP.
  • PM Hike: 5.41 Mi - 2,300' - 3:48 - Easy: Hiked up Mt Sherman (14,036') with Alan Smith when we got to Leadville. Took it super chill, even wore jeans. Tried taking a short cut though which turned into quite the scree traverse.. typical short cut, which was actually a mile longer all said and done.
Thursday: 
  • AM Run: 7.96 Mi - 900' - 1:00 - Easy: Easy run on the roads in Leadville. Groin felt good, one more easy day tomorrow and I should be ready to go for a 3 hr long run on Saturday.
Friday: 
  • AM Run: 5.37 Mi - 500' - 0:45 - Easy: Ran down the ATV trail that follows the bike path to the west and explored some more trails down there. Stopped by the LT100 expo for a few minutes on the way back through.
Saturday:
  • AM Run: 5.48 Mi - 900' - 0:54 - Easy: Planned on doing my long run, but with all the people on the trails and wanting to watch the race I cut it short. Just going to do it tomorrow.
