Summary: This was the first week that I have exhausted myself via training rather than racing or an adventure run. It was probably due to the 50 mile road bike ride on tired legs at the start of the week, the day after running 35, then doing 4 days of core (with lots of lunges) right after. By the weekend, my legs were starting to feel better but still had some residual fatigue in the hip flexors. Even with the soreness in my hip flexor(s), I got to enjoy a nice 30 miler in Gunny with Duncan Callahan & Timmy Parr on Saturday. In just two weeks Timmy & I will get to race for a $100 premium in the first two miles of the Desert R.A.T.S. Marathon/Double Marathon. (Which I am racing the Marathon, and Timmy the Double).
Overall a solid week. Now I will be traveling around Colorado & Utah as a sales rep for VFuel for the next two months, so hopefully I will still maintain consistency while enjoying new trails and mountain summits. Next week will be a standard week of +/- 115 miles with a few days of core/strength work, and definitely some road biking.
