Sunday:
  • (PM) Run: 6.77 Mi - 600' - 1:02 - Easy: Feeling a bit tired from the past couple days. Had to force myself out the door.
Monday:
  • (PM) Run: 4.03 Mi - 600' - 0:29 - Easy: Another day of not feeling like running. Managed a short one with Sean though on the Woods Walk.
Tuesday:
  • (PM) Run: 11.60 Mi - 1,100' - 1:27 - Moderate: Full Lower Loop lap with a small add on when I saw Jake & Benn. Legs are not fully recovered, but it felt good to run faster today.
Wednesday:
  • (AM) Run: 30.04 Mi - 8,600' - 6:09 - Long: Soloed the 4 Pass while my Dad & Sherry were out hiking West Maroon. Didn't feel all that great, but ended up with my fastest time (6:39). Hammered the last 5 miles to beat the rain, just barely made it.
Thursday:
  • (AM) Run: 15.13 Mi - 3,600' - 2:54 - Mountain: Timmy Parr and Miguel Mansilla & I ran up Green Lake Tr, then straight up to the summit of Mt Axtel before finding the cabin (which Timmy claimed as "Timmy's Cabin") and bushwhacked down to the old free ride trail and back via Kebler.
Friday:
  • (AM) Run: 10.23 Mi - 1,400' - 1:33 - Easy: Miguel joined me again today for en easy lap on the Upper/Whetstone Vista trails. Starting to feel like myself again.
Saturday:
  • (PM) Run: 25.33 Mi - 2,600' - 5:45 - Long: I paced my buddy Pat O'Neill the final 25 miles of the Grand Mesa 100. He was chasing eventual winner Jeremy Bradford all day long, and finished in 2nd place, just 2 min, 10 sec behind. Definitely an exciting day!

Week Totals

Running: 103.13 Miles, 18,500' Vert, 19 Hrs, 19 Min

Summary

A solid end to another week. The first couple days were rough, my legs were very tired from a big ending to the previous week. By Wednesday I was able to run the 4 Pass and although not feeling 100%, I still ran a PR. The following day I tagged a peak with Timmy Parr & Miguel, and my legs felt even better. So I am looking forward to some good weeks to come. Hopefully even getting back to some 120+ mile ones.

On Saturday I got to pace my buddy Pat O'Neill to a 2nd place finish at the Grand Mesa 100 on Saturday night. It was a 6 hr slog in the rain, but we had a blast and finished strong. He ended up just 2 min, 10 sec behind Jeremy Bradford who broke his old course record and earned a well deserved "W".

On the racing front: Sometime in the next few days I will be announcing a change to my racing schedule... stay tuned.
