Summary: This was my second 100 mile week of the year, which followed up two weeks in the mid 90's. I am starting to feel like I have some fitness and next week will be a great opportunity to test it. I will be racing the Run Through Time trail Marathon in Salida and there will be some stiff competition. (Nick Clark, Timmy Parr, & Ryan Burch just to name a few). I can't wait to get out there and push myself. Last week I went down and ran the course, and it looks like its going to be a great event. Plenty of fun single track, as well as some technical descents, and gradual inclines. It's time to back off the training, which I plan on only doing 50 miles in the 6 days leading up to the race (Sunday-Friday: 10, 5, 15, 10, 5, 5). If it works well, I hope to use that as my standard taper for the other races this season. Consistency.. that't the goal.
