Training Recap: August 25 - 31

Sunday:
  • (AM) Run: 20.31 Mi - 4,800' - 4:32 - Long: Drove out to Gunsight Bridge with Benn. Ran up the Slate and up the back of Daisy Pass, over to Star Pass, then down Pealer Basin. Saw a bunch of elk in there.
Monday:
  • Day Off... Tired from working, just didn't feel like running. 
Tuesday:
  • (PM) Run: 8.03 Mi - 800' - 1:14 - Easy: Late evening on the Lower. Bumped into Ben and ran with him back to his place and hung out for dinner before running home.
Wednesday:
  • (AM) Run: 20.33 Mi - 3,900' - 4:34 - Long: A slow slog up Mt CB. Felt tired on the climb but much better on the descent down Westside. 
Thursday:
  • Day Off... Tired from work and also it was raining.. just didn't feel like getting soaked. Also, my left knees has felt tight lately. Probably from working and lifting a lot of heavy logs. 
Friday:
  • (AM) Run: 4.96 Mi - 500' - 0:58 - Easy: A very slow 5 miles. Got up early and ran before work. Had plans of running again later but just like the past few days..  felt tired.
  • (PM) Core/Strength: Did a little workout with the ski-erg, weight bench, and pull up bar. Haven't done that in a while and I am going to need to start agian soon with ski season getting close. 
Saturday:
  • (AM) Road Bike: 40.79 Mi - 1,500' - 2:33 - Easy: Cruised towards Gunnison to meet my mom at the airport. She called just before I got there and said her flight was delayed and would be driving from Denver. So I just rode home.
  • (PM) Run: 7.33 Mi - 800' - 1:01 - Easy: Got out for a quick hour before my mom got to town. Just wanted to do something.. this week has been rough.

Summary

This was one of my lowest volume weeks of the year. Felt really tired and unmotivated due to working (trail building / logging). Even with such a low volume, I still am maintaining 4 runs over 20 miles in an 8 day stretch. So I guess its not too discouraging to have an easy week. Just two weeks to go until RRR100.
